Tulipathon 2026: Team BCUC raises $2800 for Multifaith Housing Initiative

On May 24, members of Bells Corners United Church (BCUC) took part in Tulipathon, a short community walk raising awareness about the urgent need for meaningful action on affordable housing.

Thanks to the generosity of our congregation, BCUC raised an impressive $2,800 for the Multifaith Housing Initiative, placing our team 11th among participating faith groups. In total, over $87,000 was raised by all the faith communities involved. These funds will directly support tenants in accessing safe, stable housing.

As a bonus, our walkers had the opportunity to connect with local provincial representative Tyler Watt, as well as members from other churches, sharing ideas on future collaborations around important social issues, including Universal Basic Income.

Despite a light drizzle, the afternoon was filled with good conversation, community spirit, and hope for the future.
