Volunteering at BCUC

BCUC provides a multitude of opportunities for individuals and families to participate in the life and work of the church. It is through the dedicated efforts of volunteers that our programs and services continue to thrive and flourish. Listed below are just some ways you can contribute. If you have a gift to share that is not included, please let us know. Every contribution is important and very much appreciated.

If you would like more information, please contact Volunteer Resources through the church office at 613-820-8103 or office@bcuc.org.

Worship service

Volunteers play a big part in our Sunday worship services. Greeters, ushers, readers, and candle lighters are needed each week. On Communion Sundays we need help preparing and serving Communion. Love to sing? Join one of our choirs.

Service and outreach

BCUC carries out service, outreach and social action projects to serve the needs of people both locally and globally. Locally, we provide volunteer support for FAMSAC Food Cupboard, Refuge NOW, the Multifaith Housing Initiative, and other initiatives.

Property care

Do you have a passion for gardening? Do you know your way around a tool belt? Help us keep the church beautiful, safe, and in good working order.

Children and youth

If you love working with kids, we have opportunities for helping in the nursery, teaching Sunday School, and assisting with the Youth Group.

Special events

BCUC hosts several events throughout the year including the Christmas Fair, the Spring Garage Sale, the Strawberry Social, and pot-luck meals. Your talents can help make these events successful.
